One Response to “A Christmas Meditation on History and Human Nature”

Excellent article, Mike. I’m currently teaching my 13 year old son a definition of manhood from Robert Lewis (Raising a Modern Day Knight and the Men’s Fraternity series) that states that a real man “rejects passivity” and “accepts responsibility.” As godly men, we need to step up and do what is right especially in this age of “whatever.”

Slightly off subject, but related and near to my thoughts right now is the whole subject of climate change and sustainability. I’m a little cynical about the models used to predict global warming and I’m not convinced on the science behind it, but I think I have been guilty of saying “whatever” with regards to the whole environmental movement and I wonder if we Christians are missing the point somehow? This is God’s Earth and we need to be taking the lead in being the responsible stewards of His creation, so how can I say “whatever” and let the “greenies” lead the charge in looking out for God’s Earth in a responsible manner? Have you ever pondered our position on environmental issues?
